Few questions about that, unless they’re literally taking their model and putting it into your own box using it’s own compute power, I don’t see how that’s possible. They can call it “your” copilot all they want but if they’re reading your data and prompts and computing that on their own box then they’re using your data, right?
Usually yes but not lately because I’ve been having to work most weekends. I haven’t had a weekend off in a few months. Just finished working a few hours ago actually. But I’m blessed to be in a well paying job and im getting great experience. Gotta make hay while the sun is shining.
I guess let people have their fun, but I agree. Class C space is pretty insignificant
They can be pretty common for certain people. I’ve dealt with hemorrhoids since I was 20, my dad also started getting them pretty young too. They tend to “flare up” if you eat food that irritates them. For me it’s something that I deal with every few months or so. When I get them, I gotta squirt a tube of ointment up my ass and they’re usually gone the next day. It’s a very humbling experience. I came as a poor migrant, no college education and through will and determination I became a self taught engineer about to turn 30 who makes six figures, and I occasionally have to squirt a tube of preparation H ointment up my ass.
I agree with most of what you said but it wouldn’t hurt to create a watered down version of the site and put it on a subdomain like noobs.github.com … There can be separate UIs for different kinds of users.
They could ask when you register an account what you intend to use GitHub for and what your familiarity is.
True, I’ve seen ads that are like “if you can make it to level 5 you’re a certified genius” or something like that. It’s really sad.
One of the more interesting things about how these games are advertised (I don’t play mobile games but I suspect a lot of people that do are kids) are that it always shows someone playing the game poorly. It’s supposed to make you go “huh. Well that looks easy. Wait wth is he doing? No! He could have gotten the powerup. Oh! Looks like he might get this one! What?! How do you mess that up?! I bet I could do that.”
One thing that I’ve realized about this generation of kids and people who didn’t grow up on tech but were forcibly introduced to it(millennials, gen x, boomers) is that they don’t want the game to be challenging or to reward skill. They just need the game to be flashy and to pass the time. That’s why these games are always made to look so easy and like the guy playing is a moron. A lot of people are attracted to games in a different way than “gamers” … They are not attracted to the challenge or the mastery, they’ve attracted to the visuals and lack of difficulty.
I believe these types of games are akin to gambling. The last time I went to Dave and Busters, you wouldnt believe the amount of adults i saw playing games of chance (not skill) for tickets. Exactly like a casino.
You quoted half of the sentence. I think there’s enough substance on there to consider that an informed opinion.
I have been a network engineer with no degree for many years, but I did have a lot of certs. It’d be nice if there were something similar for programming. But I’ve never seen anyone care that much about the engineer title. I’ve always thought it’s someone who understands his craft/engine design in and out, but doesn’t design it himself. The architect designs it. The tech can perform documented solutions
IANAL but i’m pretty sure that even without an NDA anything you develop on the job is considered IP of the company. However, as long as it’s not a blatant copy paste(a rewrite), it’s hard to legally enforce that because they have to prove damages. Meaning that if they shelfed the idea/program, even if it’s a blatant copy paste they can’t do anything.
I don’t get a chance to compliment people that often, but I do try to genuinely listen to people.
What programming language? You might have to back to basics. I know what you mean though. That was my frustration as well. The basics aren’t covered well enough on many courses, and learning in a browser IDE adds anxiety when following tutorials if you don’t know how to set up your environment.
If it’s with Python, maybe I can help. Getting your environment set up is the most important part. I like to use pycharm, it forces you into virtual environments but that’s a good practice to follow and gives you plenty of practice with the basics since you’ll have to install your dependencies for every project.
Sometimes the dependencies change, and it’s nice to know what version you previously used vs how the new package version works.
Bernie sold out and Hillary still lost. I respect his body of work but he wasn’t the answer.
I think the closest thing we’ve had to an amazing presidential candidate in the last 12 years was Andrew Yang.
I worked as a network engineer and got pretty frustrated working with outdated applications that were not user friendly. Once I became a supervisor, a large part of my job became writing and generating reports summarizing events that happened on the network that no one would ever read. I wanted to learn programming to automate the things I hated about my job.
I’m still an engineer, not a developer, but I enjoy writing user focused programs that reduce or eliminate worker frustration. As with many jobs, it’s not the networking that’s difficult, it’s all the other bullshit you have to do.
Also, learning how to parse, model and visualize data can really help you make your point to your management and get your ideas pushed through. Also a great way to earn brownie points with your bosses, as managers tend to love graphs.
Wish I could say it was a passion for me but I really learned out of necessity.
Honestly I’d suggest something that gets you out of the house more. Motorcycles, Latin dance, hiking and drinking is what I do for fun. I do enjoy programming for fun sometimes but the inspiration is something you have to find in other areas of life.
Amazing. Thank you
Mixed feelings here, what is an “inner child?” Feelings of exercising creativity and spontnuity don’t have to be “compartmentalized”… Just work that into your adult life. only thing that is different otherwise is obviously responsibility, that will never go away. You might have to answer to your wife as to why you chose to spend a whole Saturday watching cartoons, but as long as you make your needs known, that shouldn’t be an issue as well.
I’m sensing you have problems communicating your desires(ideas, inspirations, etc) … other than that, you might be feeling nostalgia. But nostalgia is mostly ignorance. It felt like good times at times because I was ignorant to how my parents struggled.
Been using Deezer(competitor to Spotify) for about 6 months now. Love the hifi audio. All my songs/playlists were moved over pretty effortlessly.
Fuck Spotify.
