I would seriously consider something like this since my computing job requires me to stare at a light bulb all day. Perhaps there’s a demographic that would spring for this in the same way there is for quality chairs.

Oh yay! Happy times. The fdroid version doesn’t have that yet but I look forward to the update.
It is way way lighter weight and is overall a better experience. I use osmand for routing because the voice is much better tuned (OM just says barely-useful things like “turn left” instead of “turn left at Broadway”. I think both have their uses. If the voice was better I would use OM exclusively.
“Less traumatic than violent, ad-hoc suicide” perhaps?
I’ve been slowly trying thumbkey but seem to be struggling to get to the point where I feel comfortable using it over qwerty. I love the concept as I also hate using qwerty… Yet I still seem more accurate using the crutch of autocorrect. With thumbkey I have to go back and correct more than I thought I would. I can kinda touch-type at a decent rate now but I definitely need more practice.
All of this is to ask: is there a point where I will be so comfortable as to not need to fear misspelling something without this crutch of autocorrect?
Yeah, normalize either being okay. Just like long or short hair. Diversity is the spice of life.
Considering the absolutely devastating performance hits 3.x brings (and the apparent design failures that make it extremely difficult if not impossible to reclaim it) I wonder if openssl’s days are numbered. WolfSSL seems to be favorable to the HAProxy team. Hopefully that can get some traction.
That’s a measure of success to me. Systems that have run for so long and continue to run effectively are to be commended, not ridiculed.
The article quotes the agency as mentioning the floppies not being the biggest worry. I wish it went into more detail of what shortcomings the current system has and what improvements such a shift to more modern infra would bring.
Because the commenter didn’t want to stoop to ad hominems?
Don’t hate it! You were just born in a different time. Your time will come where you have to explain to the young ones about how “smart phones” worked since they’ll just have their implants as interfaces. And also jetpacks.
And weird bugs like Windows audio somehow creeping into audio CD burns. Or the times in Linux where the tray would refuse to open or close. I used to keep a paper clip next to my next to force it open sometimes…
I don’t miss that hardware.
Definitely do it! It got mr making friends and getting out more.
Glad you’ve put up the fight and made it through the other side.
A lot of latin dance. Tons of lessons, workshops, and social dancing. I recommend it :)
That’s good to hear, and I really would love for things to get sorted out. Gimp 3.x has many improvements for sure but there’s a long way to go and actually releasing these improvements is necessary…
If gimp can become another blender that would be incredible.
Ha, reminds me of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJBEAZFP0aA
Glad it suits your needs!
They’ve been completely dropping the ball for years. I used to donate regularly but have completely given up on this project. It’s a farce at this point.
Thankfully I only have simple needs so Krita suffices and I don’t have to deal with the never-improving UX nightmare and never-releasing changes.
Yeah, I’m salty. It’s just that GIMP was a shining star of FOSS and it’s just been slowly rotting from inaction.
Yeah, I’m not too fond of that statement. I respect ddevault, particularly since I have seen his serious growth into a mature, empathetic person. So ICM surprised that this made it into the post.
