I’m sure it won’t avoid it much longer. But yeah it’s just another big platform that will fall.
The bridge isn’t run by them, but yeah I think they will close there system more or just make the experience plane terrible for bridged accounts in the future.
Do you think the people on there will move across to the Fediverse or just go to another shitty clone?
Yeah from my understanding they call it decentralized but they put it through a centralized one they control through there protocol to verify content for everyone to see, so not so decentralized in the whole of everything.
Okay, but is bluesky at least a setting stone for people to be in a slightly better place than Faceook or Twitter? I don’t like Bluesky as the next Fediverse user, especially as they’ve went out of there way to create a protocol that’s unsecure and a platform that is semi-centralised but people are learning about alternatives like us from them what is at least helpful in someway.
So what about the bridge, users can bridge there accounts across between here and bluesky and the otherway.
What counts as apart of the Fediverse then? Is it the protocol of ActivityPub or that it connects all together? As there is a bridge for Bluesky.
It’s not a bad way to get started, I’d suggest to find some communities you are interested in and begin to post content on them if they don’t get much content as it will show others that you are interested in that topic but also feed well for others looking for the content in the future.
It’s all good, yeah it’s a little different than your traditional social media as instead of going for reactions and pushing out content you actually need to communicate and talk instead of just pushing random posts more of the time to grow an actually connected audience
Post, Talk and communicate with people.
As you use the Fediverse you will slowly see regular people pop up, talk to them, especially those you’ve enjoyed talking to in the past or have something interesting to say to.
The Fediverse is about communication and sharing ideas so do that, This can be done through posting in communities or commenting on posts in communities / topics you are interested in.
This is the main reason I hate branded clothing, With moth clothing they have branding on it and it’s just an advert to the clothing brand. I personally hate this and try and find brands that are rather hidden / hard to see but also cost effective for me as I can’t afford something super expensive especially for somethings small like clothing.
I personally found it because of learning about places like Mastodon after looking for alternatives to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & all of those social medias.
I mostly connect to Lemmy through my instance that isn’t running lemmy but connects with it, but still sometimes find myself looking on a Lemmy Site to look through posts.
Not for Webapps / Mobile Webapps sadly.
Bro it’s a simple question. I hope the Fediverse can grow and asking this question as I know some may get upset / confused with no back button on screen.
Not everyone knows shortcuts, great for those that are wanting to be more quick / know the shortcuts but for a general user experience it could be frustrating especially when you are browsing in a webapp on an iphone or something.
Not everyone is used to pressing back and forwards on there browser and it will often be hidden if you use the page as web-app through certain devices.
On Lemmy you can’t often see anyones posts, there are bluesky posts on the Fediverse but have to use the brid.gy bridge for it.
