Neon and Arch in a distrobox container. I’ve found the holy grail of Linux setups. Latest KDE and AUR on a stable ubuntu base.
ADHD, and Pablo Vazquez from Blender.
Didn’t mean no offence. If it works for you, great! But personally I got too into customisations and missed a lot of work which was the whole actual point, " productivity" lol. But damn did my setup look slick that week.
You know I’ve heard a lot of people say that. And i tested it with bspwm, sure I was saving some ram but when you add all the applets, compositor, bar and notification daemons and all the configs it adds up to the same amount of ram being used as sometching like KDE. I didn’t notice a lot of difference other that more time being spent on configuring the wm than using it. It was fun tho.
Oh I love that manual titling thingy. I wish I could save my window setups tho. Also an automatic tile option too.
Don’t fall for the tiling managers, I know they look pretty but they’ll sink all your time and you’ll never be satisfied. Trust me I’ve been there.
Also nondestructive editing
Try running it with wine. The pen pressure might not work tho still. Or maybe with a bit of tweaking it might.
What flippant attitude? The part where they tell the poster to just read the source code? That’s not flippant that’s the exact answer to the question. If you don’t trust it just check out the source, it’s all out in the open. If you don’t like it don’t use it, same as the telemetry alsame as the desktop. FOSS is about choice, you can choose to use Gnome or fork KDE and remove the telemetry yourself. Or maybe just flip a switch and turn it off.
Edit: Also the whole argument about how the “average user can’t read source code” is useless. Remember when audacity put ‘actually questionable’ telemetry in their code? Everyone was up and arms about it, distros still don’t provide the new updated versions of audacity in their repos. Now imagine that with KDE, it’s a much bigger project, any average user would figure it out with 5 seconds of reddit or a simple google search.
The problem I was facing was manually creating partitions. Should I use Gparted to make them first and then use archinstall, or does it not work with manual partitions?
Is there an easier way to install Arch? I know there’s Archinstall but my dumbass messed that up somehow.
KDE Neon, because it runs Linux in the background.
Been using it for over a year now and there’s just one slider for telemetry that sends them anonymous desktop/KDE apps usage data, and you can limit how much you wanna send them. And i personally haven’t heard of any controversy surrounding that. Also its opt in unlike windows.
You know there’s nothing to gain by hacking those old systems, right?
Wow you’re fast, beautiful goofy picture guy.
Don’t do colours kids!
Edit: that came out kinda racist lol.
Well up until the last driver version I was scared of putting my lappy to suspend cuz it wouldn’t wake up sometimes and I’d have to directly power off sometimes causing a kernel panic. 545 was a blessing.
For some reason I see a dismantled burger on a fedora post, what’s going on? I’m using eternity app.
The first one but I much prefer the old one over this.
