I’d say it’s partly to find some comfort with life’s many uncertainties, and one of several ways to achieve a sense of purpose when struggling for some.
That might affect both, not sure…
Do you see the content of these communities when logged out (ex: incognito mode on your browser) or through another instance / the home instance of that community?
One possibility is that the instance you’re on “deleted” the remote community, and it won’t sync anymore until restored.
We had to do this with a couple of unmoderated communities filled with spam, with an unresponsive instance admin. It was that or defederate completely from that instance, which I’d rather not do.
That’s it boys, let’s pack it up!
At least in Quebec:
Employers’ Responsibilities Towards
These are the main ones:
- Employers must give their employees a place to work and make sure they have access to it. They must give them the tools, equipment and other things they need to do their work.
https://educaloi.qc.ca/en/capsules/rights-and-responsibilities-of-employers-and-employees/
You have the right not to use your personal hardware for work, and the employer must provide the necessary equipment to accomplish your job.
Ask if you could get a hardware token (ie: Yubikey Security Key) instead of using Microsoft Authenticator to fulfill the security requirements. It’s low cost and doesn’t require a subscription unlike a cellphone plan.
I wish I had this to pair my bluetooth game controller on Lakka at the time, that seems way more intuitive.
because of Apple’s rules about JITs
Now that I think about it, Apple’s relaxing its rules for emulators it must be a PITA to make such a software without JIT…
The post link is broken, here’s one that works
Personally use Ventoy for non-Linux ISOs (ie: Windows), and everything else Linux-y I install through the netboot.xyz ISO image with Ventoy. I rarely need to update my USB stick that way, and most systems I have to deal with have access to the Internet.
You can also use a VoIP service to send and receive SMS.
Win+V works decently enough for me.
If I am to be defeated in battle, I hope to whisper “you absolute twaaaaaaaaa…” towards my vanquisher as my last breath.
Just moving into another apartment or home is a lot of work and can be stressful, I can’t imagine how stressful moving into another country can be…
For my server I simply switched to Debian and add the packages I need on top, without all that proprietary snap crap.
For desktop I’m tempted to switch to an atomic distro like Fedora Silverblue (Gnome) or Fedora Onyx (Budgie), and for the Steam Deck I’d go with Bazzite.
I don’t think you can fix that, it’s how MTP was designed.
Something on-device would have direct access to the filesystem, or at least the abstraction wouldn’t be as slow as MTP.
Something like disky could do?
The MTP protocol is notoriously slow, as it will not multiplex block operations unlike traditional filesystems. It will not be able to process multiple files in parallel or asynchronously, which means the software can only check one file at a time.
So Filelight can probably handle it, but it will be highly inefficient and that would explain why the software appears frozen.
It’s a way for them to have their cake and eat it too.
They use the desire of people to buy something they want and think they did a good thing at the same time, while the business will just take that money to donate to a non-profit (helping their public image) while writing off a part of it on their tax records (helping their bottom line).
They’re not doing this from the bottom of their heart, it’s just a cost of doing business for gaining some PR karma.
