I didn’t know about Revolt. It sounds awesome and does indeed look like a Discord clone, but while you can self host it, instances can’t communicate with each other. The devs of Revolt actually recommend NOT to self host.

Exactly. Everyone can see how and why an algorithm on Lemmy shows what it show.
Lemmy still uses algorithms, but they do not use personal information. When you sort by “Hot”, “Active” etc. you are using an algorithm.
Mint is based on Ubuntu and LMDE is based on Debian. I think Mint is more up-to-date and more newbie friendly.
The occupier is usually the bad guy.
