For people coming from windows i think linux mint is the best choice.
Gimp, blender and vscode works well on linux
U can code dart/flutter with no problems on vscode on linux, android studio also works fine if you need to export to android.
For file manager i use nemo (default on mint cinnamon).
Other software mentioned i have no idea.
Damn every day it gets worse to find images u can embed… Tried more than 10 before, half is gone, other half redirects to site/post… Anyway here’s one without the text:

I don’t want my projects to get skipped over because they’re ugly and I don’t want to copy other designs pixel for pixel.

There’s a community maintained fork, but i think it’s missing some files (ship blueprints for some races)
Star Ruler 2, the company closed down and open sourced the game, it’s a space 4X real time, has pretty good fleet combat and u can design ships, i think wasn’t popular because the resource management and card system is a bit weird and harder to understand than other strategy games, but pretty fun after u get used to it…

I think Dota doesn’t run on proton, i had no problems running the native linux version with my laptop intel i7 + nvidia 1050ti, but it was on X11, u can probably choose that on login screen.
What i think you need from a fresh install (i don’t remember exactly what i did at the time):
nvidia
package or nvidia-lts
depending on which kernel you’re using, or nvidia-dkms
plus headers of your kernelnvidia-settings nvidia-utils lib32-nvidia-utils nvidia-prime
(never used bumblebee i just use prime-run)steam
or steam-native-runtime
prime-run %command%
So we went from companies claiming to use blockchain/crypto even if they didn’t use it (for any significant portion of their service), to now hiding it when they do use it?
I’d guess every day someone gets fed up with some MS bullshit and goes looking for something else, for me it was the forced updates/restart and the following waiting to finish updates then 100% disk usage for a few minutes, then removing whatever bullshit that got reinstalled.
tl;dw: writes to the path in /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern
