  • Yo ho! yo ho! A pirate’s life for me, Sailing through the broadband, on the digital sea. With torrents and downloads, we navigate the waves, Seeking out the treasure in cyberspace’s caves.

We plunder and we crack, from software far and wide, Our digital fleet sails, with bandwidth as our tide. No map or compass needed, we follow the online trail, In search of hidden files, and secrets to unveil.

Yo ho! yo ho! A pirate’s life for me, With DRM to crack, and torrents running free. We hoist the Jolly Roger, on virtual high seas, Aye, we be the scourge of the modern IPs.

With VPNs to cloak us, and proxies in our wake, The legend of net pirates, just rumors and hearsay. So raise a glass of energy drink, to the life we lead so free, For we are modern pirates, on the vast and boundless sea.

Yo ho! yo ho! With every byte we claim, We’ll sing our shanty proudly, in the digital domain!

  • When passing or storing data in code you usually have to specify what type of data is it. An int is an integer, so numbers, there’s also boolean (true/false) and many others. There’s also string which is just characters of any kind (for the most part) which pretty much makes it a catch-all, since numbers can be a string along with letters and special characters.

But to use a number as a number after it’s been received as a string it has to be converted to an int, which means extra code, more effort, more failure points etc etc.

  • Buy a dual hose portable AC, that’s what I did when I lived in an apartment that would get VERY hot no matter what. (Actually, to save some $$ I got a single hose and modified it to a dual hose, but depending on the specific model and the tolerances they built it to, it risks short cycling and possibly burn out)

They’re still not nearly efficient as a window AC, but far far better than those single hose ones

If you can fit a window AC do that instead, if you are able to make modifications, a small mini split/heat pump system would do wonderfully. Though I have heard that they make mini splits that go through small windows rather then needing to drill through the wall, so that might be an option too.

The other tips and tricks are nice, if you have exhausted all other AC options and simply can’t have an AC at all (Which is mostly due to cost, dual hose portable ACs are pricey) but they really don’t compare to an actual AC system.

  • We don’t need religion, we did at one time. When we didn’t know why or how people got sick, why sometimes crops would be plentiful and other times famine or why the ground shook sometimes or even just figuring out morals

But we know those things now and when we encounter something we don’t we have the knowledge and tools to figure out what’s up.

We don’t need churches for a common social place, we have parks, libraries, community centers and community wide events to invest in. We can socialize and learn other cultures around the world in an instant. We don’t just have random villages and tiny cities any more, we have large and diverse cities so we everyone can have a little of everything they’re interested in.

At this point, all religion does is serve as yet another thing to divide us.

  • you must get a date to go

You really don’t, it’s where the phrase “going stag” (To go without a date, or with a group of friends rather than a date) is commonly used.

Also, HS is important for developing social skills and prom is usually for seniors. The end of the last stage of childhood and an opportunity to flex those skills out as graduation is usually within a couple weeks after prom at which point you’re ejected into the adult world.

It’s just a fun event for teens to be teens before they go fully into the workforce or college

It’s worthless when you can’t upgrade a damn thing, it’s frankly unacceptable to produce a laptop with soldered RAM and a soldered SSD (with no expansion options)

Apple claims it’s for speed and performance, which is technically true, but you’re not going to notice that 10% difference between a good quality NVMe and some speedy DDR5 RAM

But you will notice when you try to save some money on base RAM and base storage and then realize, you can’t upgrade shit a year or 2 later and your only option is to drop another couple grand for a whole new device

    Fuck Apple.
