They could try to pass it as a legitimate interest but likely it would be struck as being ultimately disfavouring the individual and favouring the business. Probably.

Well then explain me how you propose to apply data subject rights to a llm… you can’t currently un-train those as far as I know. And that’s not touching IP which isn’t exactly the same here and there.
I’m professionally watching what’s happening with this very topic and the current state of the law and related decisions makes everyone in the business cautious at the very least. Doesn’t prevent business to take risks but it’s risk taking indeed.
Yeah that’s not standing in europe… especially for PII…
Telco. Back then I was internal investigation. 25k employees. Bound to have some bad apples unfortunately. Honestly not weirder than elsewhere.
So do I but with exception of the unfortunate cp that calls for bleaching eyes (and security) one is more sanitary than the other…
I can relate to the guy that had to put that number in. Prolly went along the lines of « can we get some budget to identify our various processing activities and what processors are involved ? »… to what management said « lol no just put the overall numbers in ». And the guy included the kitchen company in there because fuck it.
Haaaa yeah the kindle. Both loved and hated in my case. Love the form factor, allowing me to indulge in new books. Hate it because I don’t get new physical books anymore. Not that I have any room left for books; that’s the reason I bought the kindle in the first place…
Also like it’s the only source of vulnerabilities… in addition a lot of the trendy python libs are developed in C; do we also ditch those?
As long as no sourcerer drops by :)
There’s plenty of training material for those around I understand…
Risks of the AI going amok set aside there’s something appealing in not risking human lifes during conflicts. Karmically or economically wise. Also you remove the limitations of human bodies -suddenly your airframe can give 100% of its capabilities without turning the pilot in a milkshake.
My personal favourite remains perl for anything text oriented or for simple-ish orchestration.
TIL in English it is called assembly 😅 We had C in 2nd year, first was only cobol, assembly and pascal. Fun times :)
Cobol wasn’t that bad… the use of line numbers was weird but at the time it wasn’t unique either. Assembler now… that was a bitch… the operations weren’t exactly intuitive and playing with registers wasn’t my thing. But I could pickup cobol if I was starving no problem :)
Opt-out is still illegal in many cases… a lot must be opt-in based. Typically consent must be freely given.
Amongst all my hobbies (am kind of a serial hobbyist…) I think fishing is the one that turns out the most expensive compared to my initial assumption.
Started with trout fishing into fly fishing the lure then carp… daaamn now I’m looking into a bassboat or a kayak…
Fishing. It’s outside, you get to meet interesting persons, there is a collection side in it and you can reach modest goals which is doing a lot of good.
How do you anonymise without supervision ? And obfuscation isn’t anonymisation…
