I’ve got shit to do
I’ve got shit to do
Lay a sewer pickle
Honk out a dirt snake
I got a ticket for a remote site that said “there’s an error message and the computer doesn’t start” . there was no clarification what the error message actually said.
I spent about 20 minutes driving out there, turn the computer on:
“System battery voltage low. Press F2 to continue”
I did not have a battery with me. If they just said what the error was, I would have brought a battery with me. Now they have to wait for another tech to be scheduled to drive out to this location which could be a week later.
In the open source world, I take that as a highlight, not a warning.
This is the first I’m hearing of Ladybird. Looks really interesting and glad to see there are more options for browsers coming
Well that’s egg on my face.
You’re on the wrong instance for that
I found the opposite with Gnome which is why I switched over to KDE.
And that’s the beauty, we are free to choose. I’m glad Gnome works well for you.
Same as :wq
and :x
Saves and quits.
Thank you for pointing that out. I knew Firefox had updated to enable desktop add-ons to work with mobile but I didn’t see Sponsor Block when I took a quick look.
For those that don’t know, you can use three numbers, zero through eight, with the chmod command. it takes the binary of each digit to set the permissions.
$ chmod 644
6 | 4 | 4
110 | 100 | 100
rw- | r-- | r--
I’ve really fallen in love with the Aves gallery app. It’s finally got me started with organising and tagging my photos.
Another recommendation, especially for addresses and points of interest, is https://every-door.app/
It’s not as pretty as StreetConplete but it’s fine to work with.
You can also make this the default behaviour as you start typing a command.
Create ~/.inputrc and add these lines:
$include /etc/inputrc
## arrow up
"\e[A":history-search-backward
## arrow down
"\e[B":history-search-forward```
FlorisBoard has been a great keyboard. The last proper release was over a year ago but the developer is actively working on a big update which will add word suggestion.
I have no personal experience with it but I see Nobara mentioned often, especially in regards to the Microsoft Surface Tablets. Hopefully someone else with more experience can chime in on it.
The app mentioned on the post, Organic Maps, has Android Auto. OsmAnd is another app that I know has it as well.
