It would make it harder to compensate the devs for sure, though. They lost their finances and whoever picks the project back up will need to build their revenue stream from scratch although I feel that a good portion of yuzu contributors will just start funding one of the forked projects.
Pronounced “fuck you”. The “ck” is violent
I feel like you could also give the maintainers the power to “re-publish” using a different verified maintainer so that if such a thing does happen, it can be reversed without input from the maintainer that originally pulled it. I don’t know enough about the system to really know if this is a good idea tho.
I’m curious if you mean this one issue talked about in the article is the only reason why node packaging is “fucked” or do you have any citations you can provide that point out other issues with it?
I feel this is just a natural progression of how the developers wanted it to function and this is an opportunity to resolve it.
Better that this is done by mistake and resolved than it being used in a malicious attack.
Even if there is no punishment on top, if Putin ends up losing all he gained, heads will roll including Putin’s. If he can gain any amount of land in a negotiation and end the war, he can go back to his people and say that it was all worth it and many of them will buy it.
Edit: *many
The negotiation is get the fuck out of Ukraine you blithering waste of flesh.
I tried using opera years ago before they switched to the blink engine. I uninstalled it right after installing it and finding out that it made itself the default browser without asking me.
All the alternatives I’ve tried never get the flavor right, not even close. Most are way too sweet.
I feel like the director knew exactly what type of movie he was making too. As bad as it was, I always crack up thinking about “Daddy would you like some sausage?”
Didn’t realize he was pumping out more books since I read the first three in grade school. Excellent series!
Would be a cool feature if it could be leveraged in a secure, private, efficient way that was more useful than 99% of the algorithmic monkey typewriter garbage that’s on the market these days. I don’t need a glorified Cleverbot rifling through my unspeakables.
Thanks for the ELI5. I read the article but had a hard time parsing the significance other than Nvidia proprietary drivers bad
I honestly think the combining of the same communities on different instances will happen more at the app layer. It wouldn’t be hard to group them all in the same category for convenience and it allows for more granular control. Downside being that it makes an already complex platform more complicated but hey, that’s kind of the point and reason people come here to lemmy in the first place. I want more people to join lemmy but I also know that it’s going to be a niche platform for quite a while if not the rest of it’s existence.
I really don’t get some of these comments. I’ve been using popos on and off since it came out. I would check out gnome extensions to see if anything sticks out to you as being useful for your use case. I would also go into your settings and update your recovery partition. This is also the place to refresh your PC if you need in the future which has been a must-have for me.
