There’s a power utilities building disguised as a house just down the street from me. You’d never know it wasn’t just a house besides the industrial equipment behind it, the lack of a car in the driveway and the warnings plastered on the front door.
I’m just your average Canadian wolf. I’m a siren enthusiast and railfan as my main hobbies. I run the Civil Defense Sirens Wiki, and am working on restoring a few vintage sirens (such as a FS&S Model L and a rare Sterling Siren MOD. F) as well as a 1970s Safetran mechanical crossing bell.

Over where I am it’s closer to 3 dollars for the cheapest burritoes. Stuff like the 5-layer and grilled cheese burrito are 7 bucks!
And they’re obnoxiously expensive for what you get. You could get far better food for the prices Taco Bell demands nowadays.
Wendy’s ruined the bacon too. It’s the same garbage you’d get at Burger King, and it’s significantly smaller and tastes worse than the bacon they were using a year or so ago.
Thanks to COVID, we didn’t get to have a prom. I don’t feel like I missed out on anything.
Relish or mayo. Ketchup is too sweet and artificial-tasting, mustards are hit or miss for me.
I have an e-scooter that gets me everywhere I need in town, and can use a taxi or get a ride from friends/family if there’s a situation where the scooter won’t work. Cars are expensive to insure, run and keep fueled, and money is tight enough as is.
Everyone here uses Kijiji or Facebook Markeplace. Craigslist isn’t on anyone’s radar because it has a reputation for being sketchy.
My coworkers love her because “She’s a storyteller!”
I can think of many bands that do the same thing without making aggressively mid music while doing so.
Reminds me of a verse from Social Distortion’s “I Was Wrong”:
"And I think about my loves, well I’ve had a few
Well, I’m sorry that I hurt them, did I hurt you too?
I took what I wanted, put my heart on the shelf
But how can you love when you don’t love yourself?"
My interests are outdoor warning sirens, railroad crossing signals and trains. The first two are very niche indeed lol.
Haha, you’re right! Here you go. Mike’s Railroad Crossing Website
I’m a part of a small group of railroad crossing signal enthusiasts who run a site that seeks to document railroad crossing signals and their equipment across the US and elsewhere. The site’s been around since the 90s and was originally made by an enthusiast named Mike Hickok. He sadly passed away in 2011, so we keep the site and forum alive in his memory. The site’s Canada section hadn’t been updated since 2007 until I began documenting signals myself over a year ago, and it now has over 1200 pictures from 53 different crossings that I’ve documented. I’m proud of that, and I hope to get some more soon.
Their cover of Judas is also very good!
Waffle House.
Streetlight Manifesto gives me goosebumps, especially With Any Sort of Certainty and The Littlest Things.
If You Wanna Start Again by The Trews makes me cry, especially watching the video, because it brings back bad feelings from a horrible breakup I had back in December.
If you look at the number of comments Lemmy says there are, versus the number of comments visible, the difference is how many people from blocked instances there are.
I’ve seen one post where it said there were 51 comments, but none would appear for me. That’s because all of the comments were from instances blocked or defederated by my instance.
Watching it makes seeing what’s happening in the US all the more terrifying when you realize a significant group of people want the world to be like that and are actively trying to make it so.
And Photonicinduction! He uploads rarely but every video is great.
