That’s an extremely small minority, and you can turn it off if you want.
Insufferable FOSS/Linux nerds are ruining Lemmy.

Ubuntu is the best bet for a distro to just work well out of the box.
Granted I have still had a fuck ton of issues, errors, etc, but Ubuntu is the only distro that has worked the best out of the box. Fedora was a broken mess, and Mint was in between.
So if you want anyone to not give up on Linux, direct them towards Ubuntu first. You can always switch distros later, but spending 3 days trying to fix issues on a different distro isn’t fun.
Other than me, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a person, business, etc, in the wild running Linux.
Even business signs/billboard I’ve seen run Windows.

Lemmy is no different than Reddit. Just constant reposts.
It feels worse on Lemmy because the amount of content is so low. Really sucks.
The context is that code made its way into shipped open source software.
The type doesn’t matter. It proves that there can be slip ups.
Move goal posts, though.
But oPeN sOuRce iS sAfe.
Meanwhile I have 25ft cables running my large format vinyl printers lol
Ubuntu, one of the most popular Linux Distros, already did that.
Or are we just hating on Windows?
I was asked why I can’t switch to Linux, so I replied listing the software I require Windows for, and then was called a fanboy and downvoted heavily…
Neckbeards fighting about Linux. No girls in sight.
Like Lemmy.
Firefox always runs in the background on my PC also. I’m sure there’s a way to disable it, but by default it’s always there.
I’ve never had that happen. Either the US version of Windows is fucked, or people are bullshitting hard.
Sadly the quality isn’t better
They also push their VPN a lot. Every week or two I open Firefox and they send me to their VPN page on their website telling me to try it.
Like no. I’m not interested in paying for a rebranded mullvad.
