Israel has nuclear weapons. Iran doesn’t. Israel can get away with strikes like this. Iran uses proxies to do similar but deny involvement. Their proxy Hezbollah has obviously been busy since October, and the commanders killed were involved with that. Or maybe it’s a response to October 7th. Iran themselves have claimed that October 7th was retaliation for the killing of Soleimani:

They have since retracted that statement and Hamas has always denied it, but yeah.
Obviously, bombing an embassy is bad, but it’s not as if they’re going to convince their detractors anyway, so why would they care about people who were going to hate them anyway hating them some more?
A bit like how Iran gets away with funding terrorists who target civilians, because anyone who hates Israel isn’t suddenly going to hate Israel any less because of it.
Things are escalating towards a larger war.

After he’s moved some of Russia’s abundant supply of troops to the border, maybe he can also match increasing NATO military spending. Ignore the US, only match Europe. The EU’s GDP is over 20 trilion * 2% target = 400 billion.
Russia’s currently at 69.5 billion spending, so a 450% increase should get it near EU spending. That works out at roughly 20% of GDP. Maybe increase refinery production and export a bit more oil or export gas to some of the more affluent markets.

Is whataboutism acceptable, when Israel defends its actions in Gaza by saying “What about Hamas crimes?” Is saying ‘what about Hamas’ a valid defense against allegations of war crimes in Gaza? Should Israel be allowed to commit war crimes in Gaza because Russia is committing or facilitating war crimes in Sudan and Ukraine? “We bombed a hospital, but what about Russia! What about Assad?”
Personally, I think what Israel is doing in Gaza is no less bad, because the Russians are doing similar things in Ukraine, or because Assad bombed hospitals.
You see, the worst thing about what’s happening in Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine, Syria, Yemen, Xinjiang, wherever… it’s not the hypocrisy. It’s the war crimes.
