I feel like poking a hornet’s nest today. Do you think animal farming should be legal? No ethical consumption under capitalism, right?

Keeping it illegal means it’s an action of last resort - ensuring that only the most vulnerable people get caught in it.
Well I want the average sex worker to be a person who has a generally safe and pleasant life.

I’m worried that if buyers demand to practice in secret, it becomes practically impossible to regulate and for sex workers to implement proper occupational safety practices. For example, security guards to protect them from violent customers.

I agree with your first paragraph, but I’ve heard from experts in the field that human trafficking is already illegal, criminalising sex work just scares the victim into silence.
A lot of sex slaves here in Australia are immigrants who agreed to an illegal and unethical deal in order to flee their home countries. So when the cops bust a trafficking ring, what do they do? Send the girls back home to the regime they fled. That’s not helping. The government should give them a visa and let them work here if they want.

I don’t even think buying should be criminalised. It just makes it harder for sex workers to find clients for no reason.

Humans have a natural drive to work for the betterment of their community. Capitalism suppresses that drive by teaching them to sell their bodies and time. Give them a choice, and enough will choose to work that society can survive. Those who don’t want to work are often sick in some way and need society’s support. There’s no such thing as laziness.

I just don’t want to take My earbuds out. I’m listening to an audiobook.

Corporations steal from us all the time, we should take back. I’d love to live in a world where less jobs is a good thing for humanity, but we live in a world where it’s a bad thing. Fuck capitalism.

What would you say if your date said “I don’t think people should return carts, I think they should use them to block the road into the carpark to annoy the car drivers. But I don’t use a cart anymore, I bought myself a hand trolley I can take home with me on the bus.”

No, it’s best to leave your cart in the carpark where it blocks cars, to incentivise taking the bus.

Cool! Time to find out if I like it!
At the very least, I will have a well-educated position whence to call annoying people Butt-heads

This is great advice, seconding everything here

Those are the instances I politically agree with and are therefore nice!
I think the government should ban animal agriculture except the most vital medical and scientific uses. Customers should need to prove they have a serious medical disorder that can only be treated with meat in order to buy it. It should be regulated very tightly, the same as medical amphetamines. That’s how we reduce the harm suffered by the animals.
