For all their failings, Logitech master mice do tick most of your boxes.

I replaced the battery in my master 2 not long ago although I had to buy new skates for it it only took about 10 mins of work and the battery was a very basic, standard Li-ion, not custom hardware.

Not USB C to be fair but when you only have to charge it once a month or every 3 if you upgrade to a higher capacity battery is something I can live with personally.

Drone racing applies particularly here!

Small town for sure. I love the outdoors, I love the quiet life, I love the community cohesion, I love pretty little houses and cottages and I love animals. I adore hills and crags and mountains and valleys.

The city itself isn’t really my scene. I don’t like cars, I don’t like shopping centres, I don’t like big flashing lights, and loud noises, and I don’t like sirens or clubs. I especially don’t like loud cars and pollution.

I live in a city now and I just miss the colour green and ponds and lakes and people that smile and say hello. I realise the country isnt perfect and there’s still things I’d miss about the city but by far I’d rather live out there than the middle of a city.

I’ve had at least one trespass, a couple of karrimore, and I think I’ve had one or two smaller brands but I can’t remember what they were off the top of my head.

I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than £75 a pop on any pair of boots I’ve owned so perhaps I’ve had it coming for a while!

What would you class as “renowned” because I’ve tried trespass and go-outdoors but neither one have been very much help for me. Perhaps it was lack of knowledge on either mine or the clerks part but they’ve never seemed to be too sure of what they’re selling.

What you’re saying about replaceable soles is absolutely one of the most common (and probably best) pieces of advice I’ve recieved here and will absolutely make sure I do pick up something repairable in that aspect! Thanks for your input on that!

I agree with what you’re saying about waterproofing when I think what I really meant was weatherproofing!

I’ll definitely be looking to pick up some good repairable boots, probably leather and/or fabric blend.

I appreciate your input on materials as that was the main thing I wasn’t sure on seeing as my previous pairs have all fallen apart in one way or another or simply become too worn to provide support

I mostly walk in the peaks and lakes so waterproof is a big plus! Ankle support is very useful too and ideally a brand with a wide range of sole shapes and sizes so I can fit them to my sole shape.

The worst boots I’ve had had virtually no arch support and we’re really loose around the sole and hurt like hell to wear!

You should try a bunch and see what you really like! The beauty of Linux is there’s so much out there that you’ll almost definitely find one that gels with you.

A good place to start is Linux mint! The best way I can describe it is a blend of all the best parts of windows 7, 10 and 11 with very few of the downsides. You’ll almost definitely settle in quickly and you might never want to switch as it’s very full featured, snappy and well put together. It was designed for people wanting that Linux experience while still feeling familiar to windows users.

Another one to try if you love customisability is ZorinOS. There’s a free and paid tier, both of which are excellent with the free tier offering layouts for old and new windows and Mac like experience and the paid tier (only around £30 for a lifetime licence) has layouts and customisability for absolutely everything else and extra tools and options for those that want more of that!

Plus, any maglev project has to be a new build and not outright replace existing lines. Replacing a line would require closing and removing the existing line, extensive reconstruction of the track bed, and probably delays or closure to tracks sharing the line. It’s not an easy thing for the government to justify when it would be cheaper and easier to simply improve the existing rail infrastructure. Or…you know…ignore the problem which is what they seem to be doing anyways

My cousin got a new TV and I was helping to set it up for him. During the setup thing, it had an option to enable AI enhanced audio and visuals. Turning the ai audio on turned the decent, but maybe a little sub par audio, into an absolute garbage shitshow it sounded like the audio was being passed through an “underwater” filter then transmitted through a tin can and string telephone. Idk who decided this was a feature that was ready to be added to consumer products but it was absolutely moronic
