OK, but then they rely on donations or info selling for ads. Is that really better? I sure won’t foot the bill for the ceo’s multi million salary.

That’s the saddest part, I loved my 3dtv until they stopped making media for it. It was a fun gimmick, but I was definitely not “most consumers” lol
Honestly yeah, none of the crap being made right now is going to appear relevant in the future, just like 3d tvs
That’s by design.
I mean, I see their point, but it’s still a bad take. At the end of the day, this monopoly needs to be broken up. Also, have they tried not hiring a bunch of new executives and capping CEO pay at 300 000?
I haven’t tried it, but Iceraven has a lot of extensions available compared to Firefox. Maybe there is one to do exactly what you need?
I was about to suggest that as well.
I’d wager another better alternative will come up that’ll be like Discord, get great traction, then go public, then enshitify. The cycle of crap software continues until a FOSS option appears.
Once you have shareholders, users don’t matter anymore, you serve them instead.
Enshitification is on the horizon…
Valve isn’t perfect but they’ve been more often than not the good guy. Just recently, the TF2 community wanted more freedom to make full-fledged mods of their own, so Valve released the source code and allowed free standalone mods to be listed on the Steam store.
Please allow us to monopolise! Please!
Nintendo can’t stop suing. It’s simply time to stop giving them money, cuz they’re pissing it away on lawsuits against websites that are making available games Nintendo refuses to sell us.
I had a feeling this was coming.
In gender neutral bathrooms? YOU’RE FIRED!
I also doubt this, even after reading this. I remain sceptical that we will ever even reach it.
That’s definitely good news, if we can get anything Elon out of our lives, it’s always a plus.
Man late stage capitalism sucks.
Interesting. AI can help code for sure, but only as suggestions though.
I knew this whole hype was way overblown. This AI is “good” but not replace every employee with it good.
