Linux@lemmy.ml•What do you think of tools for setting colorschemes in many apps at once, like pywal and base16?
1·2 months agoI love pywal, i also love tuis because i need only to change terminal’s colors. If i want catpuccin then i can just download catpuccin wallpaper. I use pywal on every tui and librewolf. Don’t need to change antthing else. I love when i download new tui and it is already themed

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Open source alternatives to daily programs?
2·2 months agoYeah, I’ve heard only server side of signal is closed source, but i think it doesnt matter because messages are encrypted before connecting to server if i get it right, also signal uses google’s firebase notification push, theres molly fork which changes it.

Also could u tell me about self hosting cost and time you spend on it?
I am planning on self hosting but dont know if i could afford it, mainly i would host lemmy instance, reverted dns, maybe peertube and matrix, and something to share files across my devices.

Linux@lemmy.ml•What distro do you install on other's computers?
2·2 months agoPre-configured Artix linux with dinit, plasma, refind, and some gui installer, really fast and i think its reliable enough
You are right. Official Live ISOs have gui installers, I tried it once and in my opinion it lacks some features. I wanted perfect solution for me which also can be solution for someone else. I think my script contain a lot of useful stuff. Ive seen theres way to modify gui installer, but it didnt came to my mind anytime. Writing this script gave me alot of bash knowledge which for suer will be useful. Thanks for reading this :D.
i have almost full environment of tuis that look so beautiful, i wish my script looked like them.
there are some tui programs i use: yazi, youtube-tui,btop, fsel, rmpc, lazygit, td-tui, wiremix

It might be overwhelming but still fun to explore new things, right?
