If asked how you are:
You are doing well. Not good. If you really are doing good, it’s an active thing that makes a difference.
Otherwise, you are doing well.
Good is an old nickname for heroin, which is what I always think of when someone says they’re doing good.
Superman does good. I’m doing well (if I’m having a good day, that is).
I’ll usually respond “super!” when someone says “good” in this kind of context.
